It's an absolute nightmare. The mess it creates. One day per year idiots think they can do what they want without any consequences. It's my biggest hate about this country.

De helft van dat vuurwerk word gekocht in omliggende landen waar het ook gebruikt wordt maar niet zo duidelijk zichtbaar is. Daar zijn ook slachtoffers van vuurwerk maar net als hier is dat vaak door verkeerd of onzorgvuldig gebruik. Nee we zitten lekker te wachten op een algeheel vuurwerkverbod..... Dan word ons relatief veilige vuurwerk vervangen door het spul waar dit jaar dus een tiental mensen mee zijn opgeblazen die het leven hebben moeten laten en tientallen huizen mee zijn opgeblazen.

Half of those fireworks are bought in neighboring countries where they are also used but not so clearly visible. There are also victims of fireworks but just like here that is often due to incorrect or careless use. No we are happily waiting for a general fireworks ban..... Then our relatively safe fireworks will be replaced by the stuff that this year has blown up ten people who have had to lose their lives and dozens of houses have been blown up with.

I hate the constant bombs going off for weeks at a time. This tradition of fireworks is outdated and the delinquents terrorizing pedestrians and animals with their illegal cobras should be arrested. I stayed home to keep my terrified cat calmer while cobra bombs were released outside my garden fence till 04:00 nationwide fireworks ban!

We Dutch are incredibly stingy people, we constantly complain about the cost of everything, yet this year we managed to blow up a whopping 118 million euros of fireworks, resulting in 2 deaths (one being an 14 yr old boy) several serious injuries including amputations, dozens of burns and eye injuries, several riots, hundreds of fires, and dozens of emergency personnel that gets harassed or even assaulted and an average of 10-15 million euros of property damage every year. 1/
