A decade ago, Musk promised to build a 6-mile long tunnel in Chicago, from O’Hare airport to downtown. The city paid about 10% of the cost up-front, and zero feet of tunnel was ever built. Musk’s tunnel projects are, and always have been, smokescreens to stall public transit projects, because he sells cars.
