anyway, if it wasn’t for the queer women in my life I’d probably be dead — my mother is my rock + role model, and she’s been an openly butch lesbian almost all my life. I remember when she came out to me (I was 6), and her honesty has always stuck with me. We’ve had our issues, but I am so thankful for her. As I grew up I was surrounded by queer community across gender+ sexuality spectrums — we supported each other. we realized we *do* have shared experiences and can be there for one another.
