Does anybody know the origin of this odd "trend" of people using WEARY [a word that means tired / worn out] in place of WARY [a word that means cautious / afraid] ?? • Eg. "He felt weary about proceeding, because the stranger seemed to have ulterior motives" He felt tired about proceeding?? I first began noticing it maybe 8ish years ago. I've seen it in print, heard it in person and on podcasts. What gives? It hurts my Neurodivergent brain 🙉
