They always said the music industry was wicked, so we can’t be surprised. The key is to grow, learn, and develop skills so that you don’t need anyone—they need you. Work with people you trust, and even then, trust nobody. Respectfully. A lot of people will sell you dreams, but I’ve realized I’m fine with just myself and the same people who consistently have supported me. Yes, there are kind people, but there are no free handouts.

Honestly just do it solo and don't force that connection, When it comes it comes otherwise just be with the music.

Just saying, all the shit that happens at the bottom doesn’t go away at the top. Sometimes, it’s worse

All of those things are true, and then there are the downsides too 😆

Over the past decade+ of doing this, I’d say it’s like 1 out of every 50 attempted connections actually go anywhere. And then even fewer that progress into a long term connection/collab that’s highly valuable. It takes a ton of patience but those few tight connections can pay huge dividends

Now that you know what you're dealing with... adjust accordingly. Or find a new career? If you love music, you will just adjust. Try to ignore it. Gonna be lame twats in every industry but music sees a surplus of em. Ya'll gotta trust me on this. 😎
