I'm not missing the point. I'm deliberately ignoring the stupidity of it. Where do you think the $ will come from? It can only come fr/increased consumer prices+lower wages that'll be necessary to fund the taxes used to support it. And that money comes fr/the surplus value of workers. So its more fair that it be part of worker wages, not distributed freely to others. A day will come when most work is done by robots+AI. Then we'll need a universal income but everything will be super cheap.
