In my eyes terms like bi, pan, omni, poly, etc are all synonyms that mean slightly different but over all similar message similarly to stuff like amazing, wonderful, fantastic, incredible. Each word has a very specific origin and reasoning behind its existence but overall can be used interchangeably. Infighting is out, Solidarity is in!

People seem to think either mean you're interested in everyone. No. I am very very picky. Gender just isn't on the list. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I identify as Bi because Pan was unfamiliar in standard nomenclature then and is still not quite as familiar as Bi. (it’s easier to say bi and have people know what you mean than say pan and have to queer-splain yourself to people who haven’t thought outside of their own heteronormativity before or have but hate themselves for it because of xyz factor).

Also I don’t understand the pan flag slander in these comments. The yellow blue pink combo IS SO CUTE. 🩷💛🩵 LIKE?! Pls?!ITS LIKE A SUNSET! 🌅

IME bi and pan are functionally the same, but a lot of people see nuance in the meanings and thus pick the one they feel more aligned with, and that's awesome TBH. 🥰 The only wrong take is trying to claim that one of the two identities is phobic. They ain't, never have been.

So I’ve always thought of the difference between bi/pan being that bi is specifically attracted to men, women, and non-binary people, whereas pan people don’t care about the gender and are more attracted to personality. I’m bi from that definition (I also like the flag colours way more) and support pan people. We’re not against each other, and the end result of bi/pan sexuality is the same (dating all genders). Plus we all have people pressuring us to be either gay or straight.

I use bi because I prefer that particular label and that's literally all there is to it for me 😂😂 like I COULD use pan, or use them interchangeably, but I prefer bi 🤷🏻‍♀️

I have waffled between calling myself bi or pan. I finally settled on "queer."
