You don't have to do anything like this with the bigger generators. Just use a reasonable sized oil change catch pan (I even grab those cheap foil pans from the grocery store on sale to use). No lifting, just unscrew the drain plug and it all drains in the pan. My last generator was a 13.5k, one of the biggest portables you could get at the time.
