I saw a lot of nods to the WIz in the Emerald City scenes. The colors, the intricate color coding of the costumes, the dance numbers, and the statuesque postures of the women done up in fabulous outfits. The Wizard of Oz Emerald City was not as detailed and imaginative as the Emerald City in The Wiz. I felt that the stage show also took its vision for the Emerald City from The Wiz. I felt it all throughout the One Short Day number. I loved it.
