I just had a really interesting conversation with my 68 yr old Republican Dad. I was telling him about Threads (Social Media is a foreign language to him). He was asking what kind of stuff I put on here. I said that I put my pictures, and stories about my life. I said I’ve had a few of my posts blow up on here. He asked what I wrote about, so I told him about my post I did sharing my experience working at the gay bar, and not knowing what a “bear” was. 🧵1/3

I told him that online/on social media there’s a lot of bigotry and hate. He goes, “About gays?!” I told him that just today I saw a guy I follow had posted about some bigotry he was dealing with… So here’s the best part. He says, “Who gives a shit if anybody’s gay?! People still give a shit about that?” Y’all!!! It may seem like we’re not making headway. 🧵2/3

Guess who he left in charge of telling his 84 year old dad that I wasn’t his girlfriend and neither were the girls he went to prom with.
