One of the funniest/most annoying things about the endless debate about therapist self-disclosure is that every therapist seems to think the amount of self-disclosure they are personally doing is the exact right amount.

How about, I dunno… ask your patient? I prefer none, which I assume is the norm. Makes me feel uncomfortable and like I have to comfort the therapist, which is not what I’m paying for
