2/ We traveled to Coco for New Year’s festivities to visit her family, who had recently built a large four-bedroom house. The house wasn’t quite finished yet. Her dad planned to add a bathroom, eventually. But even then, the house wouldn’t have running water. For now, if you wanted to bathe, you had to go next door. Before I knew it, I was standing in her aunt’s bathroom, staring at a large tub of water with a small scoop floating on top. That was the “shower.”

Feeling a similar vibe as I travel through the Philippines. It's both amazing what you can get used to and incredible the comforts we have in the first world.
