I felt this same way when I gave my life to Christ. Then I realized I was living in a false sense of peace. The business that was booming was dishonoring to God, the friends I had were counterfeits, my mentality and self worth was drained and I thought I was normal. Following Jesus brought all that to the forefront and at first, I thought I was being punished, but then I was thankful He showed me the real me. Because that means He cares and wants to partner to fix me.
