Welcome to the real world. Put money aside or go live with someone till you get your deposit back from your current landlord. First months rent you’d have to pay anyway no matter whose property you live in. What’s the problem???

What about protections from landlords who fail to properly maintain the house and wait a year to replace a broken dishwasher? Tenants should have those.

My friend was given 2 weeks, notified a week before Christmas. Told their applications for more than one location weren't being processed because the employee that handles them is on break till the 3rd of Janurary. The day they need to vacate by. This friend also has children. And a full time job. America is a diabolically disgusting capitalistic hellscape.
