While sorting through tax files today, I noticed something— a young couple (under 25) named Jennaelynne and Mattheusse (fake names but appropriately spelled because…Caucasian) filed for their newly born twin boys… named Thomas and Benjamin… Your “unique” names only cause problems for your kids. They’re bullied to the point that they name their own kids something no substitute teacher could ever screw up during roll call… You may think you’re being cute and special, but your kids suffer… 🧵

THAT SHOULD BE A HUGE RED FLAG.🚩 (I have a degree in rhetoric and writing— phonetically your kid’s name doesn’t make sense)

She told me there were two kids, one boy and one girl, who went there with the last name of “Dover”. Parents thought it was cool/funny/whatever to name them “Benjamin” and “Eileen”. I shit you not. I hope those kids disowned their parents when they hit adulthood.

As an adult, when I meet someone with my name, they're almost always right around the same age as me. 😅 I gave my kiddo a somewhat unique name, but super easy to pronounce and spell.
