Librarian here. Go forth it and do it! You’re not jumping ahead because those are extra copies bought specifically for that reason. They are non holdable so people waiting in line would never get them. Also it shows demand for the book. Libraries will do it with physical books too!

I’ve never seen this as an option 😳 Libby once notified me that my hold (like multiple months long hold) was going to the next person after never notifying me that my hold had become available. I checked my notifications on my phone, app, and email and there was nothing there. Just literally taken off the hold list 💔

Here’s to hoping I see that as an option at least once this year!
