The difference in menpower wasnt even the issue . I think that russia lost like 5 times more men than any other country . Main problem for the german army in ww2 was the environment in the deeper parts of russia , it was too cold and the germans were not equipped for it . ( or not prepared . Still same outcome ) so many soldiers died due to cold and malnutrition while their equippment ( tanks , weapons ) malfunctioned

While the human wave may have been a factor, it is wise to acknowledge the genius of Soviet generals like Zhukov. The Nazi policy of using genocide as a weapon against Russians also backfired. Why surrender to an army which was turning flamethrowers upon captured civilians?
