I live in a semi rural area. Travel time, gas etc always factor into my shopping choices. Goodwill's have public test stations, testing can be done at the store. Most recent pricing for all small kitchen appliances is $10 to $12. I bought a newer used toaster oven which died after 2 months, I was out $10. I'm still using the old one I was trying to replace. It's 20 years old & still going strong. Old crock pots are worth buying but IMO newer kitchen appliances new or used are poorly made junk.
