Why would anyone do that?? 😳

In 23 years I have never even heard of this. As a customer, why would you think about doing this? Honest question.

I had a client want a cover up. Cool awesome. He then asked to bring his own ink so it “matched” as in the cover up ink would match the ink being covered 👀. I had to argue with dude about it. He claimed it was a reputable brand. But I told him idc. Idk where it came from how old it is how it was used/stored, whether it was authentic or not either. He eventually stopped asking to use it and was happy with my ink that I trust 😊

Why the fuck would a client want to do that? And why would an artist ever risk using something they themselves didn’t aquire? What a stupid question.

Do you bring your own parts to the mechanic when you get your car fixed?

Personally for me it’s about bio safety and following health regulations. You pay us top dollar to know and understand things that you don’t have to think about regarding the biology behind a tattoo as well as the tattoo process and how inks heal in the dermis compared to others.

The only scenario I can imagine when a client would have a legitimate reason to bring in their own ink is if they have had cremation ashes incorporated into ink by a company who does this in a safe hygienic way (just shrinking ashes into a pot of ink isn't safe!)
