I think that the pay walling of quality news articles and academic journals has contributed to the current movement of anti-intellectualism and the death of experts Unfortunately I understand the need of journalism and academic journals to make money, but when peer-reviewed studies and genuine scientific research is more difficult to access than news outlets that are essentially tabloids who misrepresent important information - it makes sense that’s what people read & believe
