I’m sorry but “art should be accessible for everyone” and “you should wear a tux and a gown to the opera” are mutually exclusive opinions. Some guy on TikTok went on some long rant about how it’s “disrespectful to the performers” to not dress up but I find it interesting that I’ve never heard a performer say this, they’re just happy you’re there, maybe it just makes you uncomfortable to see “the wrong sort of people” in a space you’ve deemed “high class”?
