I knew Nike was in trouble when I went to Disney in June and literally 50% of the people were wearing either HOKA or On. running shoes. I guess going DTC and reducing your inventory at retail stores isn’t the smartest move 🤷🏾♂️.

New balance > On an Hoka. To me both On and Hoka are ugly.

HOKA’s are the ugliest shoes on earth and they are so comfortable even fashion conscious people wear them everywhere. Their design team jumped ship from Saloman.

The funny thing is running/walking shoes are the most popular shoe and Nike doesn’t offer a shoe as comfortable as the other brands. Hokas are ugly as hell but people still wear them because you can walk all day and your feet won’t be tired. Basketball is a dying sport and nobody in my hood wears Jordan’s anymore.

Yep. Heard Windhorst talking about the bottom dropping out of the NBA shoe contract market. Been seeing it myself at work, Hoka & Brooks everywhere. Lifestyle shoes have become the "style" now.

As a person who runs Hokas,Asics,Brooks, and Sauconys are the best. I tried Nike's once and it was awful

Not just shoes. Apparel is something they're falling short on, too. I went to Disney World in August and I noticed that there were around 3 or 4 Under Armour shirts or hats to every 1 Nike shirt or hat in most of the lines and places I went. I thought it was odd at the time because I had thought that Nike was king.

HOKA is the only shoe brand that doesn’t hurt my feet. I am a loyal customer and it rid of my all Nike shoes. Plus the toe box is wider

I don’t think it’s the availability aspect as much as it is comfort level. Too many years have gone by where people have had foot issues with being in the wrong shoes. As someone who works at a run specialty store - there is not more advanced technology readily available that can tell you what shoe is better for your specific foot and people are opting for that.
