People still like to claim that public health misled the U.S. population over the effectiveness of the COVID19 vaccine. They conveniently forget that the first data that were released from randomized clinical trials showed 94% efficacy (link below). Now, I and many others had deep concerns about the continued rampant transmission of SARS-CoV-2 causing mutations and undermining effectiveness in the real world, especially when masks came off. That is exactly why I never stopped promoting masking.
