Every January, I think about the time my sister found out she was pregnant over New Year’s but wasn’t ready to tell her friends, so she pretended to be doing Dry January and they all thought it was a great idea and decided to do it with her and make all their husbands/boyfriends do it too, so there was just this entire social circle of 30-somethings and 20-sonethings going sober for an entire month, and then in February, my sister was like, “Uhhh, by the way…”
