Not cringey at all! I absolutely love this show. I think it’s so pure and shows how gentle and respectful we can be when handling difficult conversations and moments in our life. Honestly, green flag city and we should all strive for that kind of love, communication, and honesty.

Not cringey (never read anyone saying that tbh). I love it, it's one of my comfort shows (Young Hearts it's starting to become one of my comfort movies, for example).

I’m a 52 year old straight woman & mother of 3 (defo not the target audience 🤣) & I LOVE Heartstopper. I think it’s one of the best representations of positive teenage relationships I’ve ever seen. As others have said, it’s only cringy when it’s supposed to be cringy - as in teens can be cringy & awkward at times.

I also think we've developed a very individualist culture where people feel everything must cater to them, especially regarding media. So when adults see something aimed at young people, it's immediately disregarded as cringe and bad because "how dare this not cater to me and my wants?". Heartstopper isn't cringe Steven, you're just 30 and don't relate to high school characters

I don't get your idea that most people find Heart Stopper cringy. It's been one of the most popular shows on Netflix. It does paint with broad strokes and primary colors and that's just one of the many ways to tell a story. I thought the most interesting character on the show was Ben. He is a poor soul totally lost in his internal conflict. The broad strokes approach to writing means that he is cast as a villain and needs to receive his comeuppance and then get discarded. Will he get better?

Heartstopper is truly amazing representation. It makes me so happy that the young LGBTQIA+ kids have such a positive show. When I was their age we didn’t have that.

I'm honestly surprised at how many "romances" are abusive. People hate Wade and Ember, and even Anya and Demitry *because* they're not abusive. Abuse is just not okey, for anyone.
