There's no way you're shrugging off the coat of opening a business like it doesn't exist lol. If I open a small 4 or 5 employee metal shop for example, I'm on the hook for 100s of thousands in machines and material. I don't risk just being an employee, I risk everything I've worked for and anything I might hope to have in the future. A company going under isn't just oh well, lock up the shop and send out resumes you absolute parrot

The ding dong definitely is. Have to love the power of social media. Even idiots get to spew their opinions to the masses.

This is such a bizarre and incorrect thing to say it makes me think that you either don’t own a business or if you do, you’re mysteriously bad at it. Out of curiosity, what do you think LLC stands for?

I like the part where you explain how failing at owning a business somehow makes you unable to work a normal job

If you can't pay living wages you don't have a viable business model

You’re delusional, if you spend 100’s of thousands on machines and material, then fail, you can sell hundreds of thousands in machines and material. You’re falling for an age-old myth that owning things and controlling an enterprise is a huge risk… in reality, businesses and corporations are designed to minimized risk.

Which part of that makes it okay to underpay employees though?

Your risk is your risk. You’re not entitled to profits at a workers expense.

.... You just go bankrupt. That's it. And if you do it right YOU don't go bankrupt the business goes bankrupt. Make an LLC and take all business transactions from that then when it goes under you aren't fully liable. You might take a credit hit but that's it you'll be fine. The real risk is your time and effort and a small monetary risk that you'll lose some money. I guarantee you didn't save hundreda of thousands to start a business. You took a loan. Bankruptcy. Easy.
