In Genesis 1, God creates man (and woman) in His image and tells them to subdue the earth, have dominion over it and everything in it.
In Genesis 2, God creates Adam and places Him directly in Eden and tells him to till the land. Mind you, Eden is one area on Earth, not the whole Earth.
If God called Adam and Eve to subdue and multiply on Earth, why did he place them directly in Eden and why was their punishment upon sin to walk Earth outside of Eden?
