Traveling to various countries in Europe has made me realize just how BAD I am at getting a waiter or waitress's attention. US restaurant culture has made me so passive, expecting them to stop by and ask if I need anything, that it inherently feels so rude to wave them down or yell out to them. I'll get there though.
