I was in grocery store. Young couple was packing their groceries. Mom kept saying "honey. Those aren't our groceries. Please don't touch". I had bus to catch afterwards. I waited few minutes. Then I said in calm voice. "No, don't touch". Toddler stopped. Mom was in shock "you can't talk to children like this" and took toddler away. I just rolled my eyes and started packing.

4 小時內	Shay shay071921	To me, gentle parenting should be teaching with patience and redirecting and yes, sometimes it can take several attempts. However, when you’re in public and the time is not just your own, the time you spend should be adjusted accordingly and it seems that should be common courtesy. I would have given the one warning “that’s not ours, please don’t touch” and then they would have been removed from helping as that would have been the consequence for not following my directions.
