I splurged yesterday on the most expensive shoes I’ve ever owned — new hiking boots for our upcoming trip to Ireland. But these are big shoes to fill. They are a symbol that, at age 70, I still have a lot of exploring to do — new places, new ideas, new stories. The past year taught me “We’re Not Going Back.” But you know what? We can’t stand still either. These shoes are going to take me to places I can’t even fathom right now. I am joyful about that journey.
