It’s about infrastructure and culture. How about US build this and you have to walk one hour to go to the station for fast speed train? Since your answer is to drive to the station, and you already have a car, why go take the train? Keep in mind you might still need to walk one hour once you got to the destination as well. US cities weren’t designed to be dense, and everything is far apart, then train system like these is useless. You might as well fly

the distance between large cities is far greater in the US than it is in China. Look at a map of China's population density and it is much easier to understand
