Almost there! ADHD and autism are always disabilities. The diagnostic criteria explicitly state that for ADHD or autism to be diagnosed, they must cause significant impairment in multiple areas of life. It’s not optional – it’s a core part of what defines these conditions. Disability is not a dirty word.

3 小時內	Julia j._.ulia	Exactly! If they were not disabling, they would just be individual differences... Not disorders. There is no point in diagnosing someone with being “quirky.” The point of diagnosis is to recognize a person’s challenges and the best approaches to dealing with those challenges, through things like accommodations or therapies. It’s frustrating that people are viewing ADHD & ASD as just personality quirks. Our society is not built for people with these neurotypes. So, they are ALWAYS disabilities.
