Not a dog, a cat and a tortoise. I love them still but I put my child above them. I still see them as my animal sons and will do my best to care for and love them, but the snuggles have went down dramatically. It’s harder when you have an actual baby/toddler, it’ll get easier when the baby turns into a kid then a big kid and so on and so forth. I’d love to get another dog when my child is like 14 so that way I can actually care for the dog (I hopefully will still have both the cat and tortoise)
