I taught and also homeschool. I think the majority of “homeschooled” kiddos they end up interacting with did not receive a true home education and end up back in public school under less than stellar circumstances. They don’t often come across successful homeschoolers because they tend to continue homeschooling and their paths don’t tend to cross, or when they do, the children integrate back in to public school smoothly so it doesn’t really even come up they were previously home educated.
