My cap and gown arrived today, and I'm in my feelings. This journey was so arduous. Every year in the program, it felt like I was fighting a different Goliath. From the near death of my child to the unjust firing & subsequent rehiring of my husband — my family & I made it. In May, I will graduate with my doctorate, my husband will receive his bachelor's (after a hard-fought journey), & my #sicklecellewarrior daughter will be promoted from elementary to middle school. God remains faithful.
