The Luther Vandross documentary had me thinking. If Teddy Pendergrass had not been paralyzed, how does this change the dynamic of his arrival on the scene. People have totally forgotten how huge Teddy was at the time. Before Luther went platinum every album, Teddy did it first. Makes you think.

Plus there was no music video outlet like MTV Image wasn’t the main thing .. how you sounded WAS. TEDDY and LUTHER were stars because they were STARS Neither one was in the other’s way. Music wasn’t set up like that.
