Art comforts the disturbed and disturbed the comfortable. Healing on both ends

Not “should”, but certainly if a piece of art makes you uncomfortable then that was likely the intent of the artist. I got some pretty strong reactions from a painting of a woman with bees coming out of her chest to symbolize anxiety. A friend asked me to put a TW on the image bc it made her uncomfortable. I told her that was the point, as most of my art is trauma related. My art says “this is what this feeling looks like, now do you understand?”
