This answer will be different for every couple and even from one set of in-laws to the other. It’s also heavily dependent on culture. There’s no one right answer for every situation.

My MIL will be moving in with us in a couple months and I am pretty worried about it. We do things completely differently and she tends to be a hoarder in her current house 😬 My husband and I have been paying for her mortgage and all utilities for the past 3 years but she started falling a lot and can’t be on her own anymore. I am so worried about our relationship suffering…I do still have 2 kids under 10 that she’ll be able to help with but she has gotten more opinionated in her later years. 🙏🙏
