Context matters. Historically and internationally, Christians are a chronically persecuted religious group. Jesus warns his disciples that they will be persecuted (John 15:18-25). It began with the stoning of Steven (documented in Acts 7) and continues to this day.
Christians in North Korea, Somalia, and Pakistan (for example) have plenty of reason to fear being a religious minority, and it has nothing to do with their behavior to others.
