Maybe it was just my gym but I left Planet Fitness because of the lack of equipment. It’s a good starter gym but it can be limiting.

Lack of actual strength training equipment, to put it in a nut shell it’s a treadmill gym with some machines

Smith machines, and 70 lb dumb bells.
