It’s a false dilemma to say it’s either screaming or permissive parenting. The best parenting is authoritative. Parents that set clear boundaries and maintain them lovingly and firmly. They nurture their kids, have a great relationship with them, are affectionate. But good parenting also involves saying “no” and setting boundaries around behavior. Successful parents hold their kids to clear, reasonable standards.
