I was in the same boat. I ended up writing a couple other projects to test the waters first before moving back to my passion project. (Which I missed a lot and now am so excited to be back with it 😭😭😭) But honestly, I recommend you do what feels right to you. You’re the one writing it. My other two projects were already formed; I just had to edit/illustruate/etc. It made it easier to make the switch to these other projects. Idk if I would have gone the same route without that head start.
