Maturing is realizing that the reasons we love a male main character are the exact reasons we deem a female lead “unlikeable” because we still hold fast to sociatal gender norms: A man’s anger is admirable (desirable even, because “he’s a protector”) but a woman’s anger is “irrational” and “dramatic.” But I still don’t think we’re ready to have that conversation, so…whatcha reading? 😂 Bookthreads
