Here's my opinion, i think the belief of God becomes necessary after you face something in life that is impossible for you to bear alone mentally(those who have gone through this will agree). At that point it doesn't really matter whether you can prove it or not. So, although I do understand/believe, it can't be proved either-way. I choose to believe because it serves me.

I’ve personally experienced His presence, and there is more evidence for Jesus Christ existing and resurrecting than there is for Aristotle or Plato, yet nobody questions the existence of those two. The historical evidence is reliable, and my personal encounters with God have left no doubt that Jesus is alive and He is the LORD
