Anybody experienced a workplace culture where most employees leave the building to sit alone and have lunch in their cars? Is this common?

Bought a minivan and got the windows tinted DARK so I can have a lunch nap. Hybrid so the climate control barely kicks the engine on at all.

A few colleagues go out into their cars saying they want it quiet while eating. It was never loud in the lunchroom 🤷♂️

Common where I work. Mostly the younger workers. Some go sleep in their cars, phone calls, Netflix. We're constantly talking to each other throughout the day, work related, we need a break from each other 😅

I would normally leave and go home on my lunch break but I had the luxury of working 5 minutes away and all my coworkers knew I don’t eat or bring anything I go eat, chat with my husband and check on our girls 😊 fortunately my coworkers were mostly older moms/women so they understood
