I’m confused—why is it OK for White people to label qualified Black people as DEI or Affirmative Action hires, but when a qualified biracial Black head coach advances to the FBS national championship, for the first time in 150 years, it’s suddenly not OK to mention race and qualifications? Just bc Coach Freeman deflected the narrative, doesn’t mean representation isn’t important.
