That leaves you with a take-home pay of £4,538 per month—a total of £2,544 in deductions before even considering pension contributions. This highlights how much of your hard-earned income goes straight to taxes and repayments. While taxation funds essential services, managing your money wisely is crucial to make the most of what’s left. 👇🏽

It helps if you have your pension payment deducted before tax, that way you can pay the maximum into your pension pot and not pay the tax on that money, they still tax your pension when you start to draw down on it, so you will only be taxed once

Why not declare yourself unemployed and enjoy benefits of free housing and money from the government? Migrant skilled workers like me are happy to pay for your benefits from the taxes we pay. :-) And btw, migrant skilled workers pay £1035/year towards NHS fees and 375/year towards visa over and above the tax. I have paid these for last 3 years and for further 2 years and I have not used the NHS even once. I agree there is a problem with tax being misused but taxation in itself is not a problem.
