Word count is important but my goal is chapter I think it makes writing go faster in my brain

All of the above, depending on where I'm at with my planning and prep phases. I'd say word count is my most consistent goal marker though because it translates to me as Time Spent Writing, and my current word pace goal is about 20,000 words a week. I'm only actually making about half of that at the moment though because most of my writing time is going into trying to outline my current projects.
