I grew up in Minnesota. My dad always hated California - called it “the land of fruits and nuts”. I moved to San Diego. San Diegans hate LA; they love to look down their noses at LA. I moved to LA in 2000 and quickly discovered Angelenos don’t hate anyone. I moved to Yosemite in 2015 and was not surprised to find that northern Californians hate LA too. I love LA. I love that my job enables me to come back to LA to help in a time of need, even in my tiny way. LA is a wonderful city.

To your point, I think CA is indeed very diverse, and that includes some people with alternative lifestyles. We should become our own country.
