I literally do not understand this. Tesco predicts a £2.9 BILLION operating profit (I.e before INTEREST and taxes) for 2024/2025, they can certainly afford the NI increase. In fact, as I see it they could pay every one of their 330 000 employees an extra £350/month (£2/hr) and still make £1.5B. Make that make sense to me?
If Tesco employees are forced to use benefits/food banks to survive, THE GOVT IS SUBSIDISING TESCO’s PROFITS.
